Understanding Adolescent Behaviour: Behaviour as Communication (CPD Pack)
A ready-to-deliver staff CPD session that reframes behaviour as communication. In doing so, helping teams move beyond quick fixes and towards understanding the underlying drivers of disruption. The session is designed for in-school delivery (behavioural specific units, INSET breakout, or pastoral/HOY training) and includes structured prompts so facilitators can lead confident, consistent discussion.

The pack centres on a simple “root cause” lens and the C.A.R.E. approach (Control appropriately, professional Rapport/Genuineness, and Empathy) to support staff in responding calmly, consistently, and relationally — without drifting into permissiveness. It also tackles what happens after incidents: how to “clean up”, rebuild trust, and re-establish expectations using restorative follow-up and purposeful reset.

What’s included: editable slide deck, facilitator guidance, discussion activities, and practical next steps to embed in everyday practice.
Ideal for: secondary classrooms, pastoral teams, behaviour leads, ECT/ITT development, and whole-school refreshers.

Anger, Aggression and Physical Violence: Focus Pupil Intervention Programme

A structured, ready-to-run intervention for pastoral and behaviour professionals to complete with identified pupils who are at risk of conflict, aggression or physical incidents. The programme helps pupils separate anger (an emotion) from violence (an action), recognise triggers early, and practise safer choices in high-pressure moments so they can protect relationships, learning and their own future.

Pupils explore the impact of violence on a school community (trust, safety, belonging), alongside the legal reality: assault and threats are criminal offences, and from age 10 young people can be arrested and charged.

The course also reinforces your setting’s “red lines” (physical aggression, intimidation, threats, incitement) while maintaining a restorative stance: accountability, repair and reintegration without minimising consequences.

Contents: Ready-To-Deliver PPT and student work-sheet (with anger risk plan for students to follow)

Best for: HOYs, pastoral teams, behaviour leads, inclusion, mentors, SLT, alternative provision staff.

Format: 1:1 or small group; discussion-led with scenario work, empathy building, and practical “in-the-moment” decision-making.
